This was a doodle I did to test some new india ink. And yeah cool that it got a lot of notes but it’s really not something I’d ever consider quality, it was a jokey sketch that I’m pretty sure got recycled a couple of days after it was made. Every now and then a popular blog picks it up and it gets a lot of notes but I’ve never even thought it was very good.
AND YET, in spite of all of that, don’t self-promote your blog on other people’s work. It doesn’t matter how rough it seems or if it has tons of notes so the creator won’t see it. They put their art out there to be appreciated, not to be used as an advertisement. And honestly I’m not trying to demonize this person in particular or glorify this piece that I don’t really care about, but it’s such a rampant trend that never fails to drive me up the wall.
Bottom line is being respectful to one another as artists and appreciators of art.
My name is Mimi, I'm from Seattle, and I like you. Really. I also like art, spring weather, cats, slurpees, intersectional feminism, and butt jokes. I always write in cursive and spend an inordinate amount of time asleep.
In case you're still curious, this is my face and this is my art.
